Child spirometry made fun

As a passion project, we wanted to create something to help children's health. After finding out that 6.8 million children in the US live with asthma, we landed on spirometry. The most important factor of spirometry is collecting accurate data at a consistent rate. Only then can you map the results over long term use and identify positive and negative trends.

Creating the internal components and industrial design firt, we were able to get early prototypes into the hands of children and collect parents' feedback. The app was created to work with the spirometer prototype, showing direct results to children, in the form of (in one case) a blowing dandelion, and parents in the form of clear visualized data.
