Multi-user Interactive Kitchen Island

The GE interactive island is meant to act as a hub, bringing the family together in the kitchen for daily updates and meal weekly planning. It was showcased in Florida's Lake Nona as a part of a new healthy smart home. Putting together a touch surface for multiple users simultaneously was no small feat.

We had come up with a two-sided solution where sink-side and bar-side users would have different interactions. We then went from ideation of scenarios and features, to complete user experience, touch screen interface with object recognition, sourcing technology, industrial design and finishes, live user testing and surveying, and documentation for GE.
